Piaget was founded in La Côte-aux-Fées in 1874, initially as a movement supplier to other Swiss houses before transitioning to finished watches under its own name in the 1940s. The brand's defining technical achievement is ultra-thin movement development: the calibre 12P, introduced in 1960, was at the time the thinnest automatic movement ever produced at 2.3mm, a record that drove the Altiplano collection and established Piaget's position at the intersection of mechanical precision and jewellery-level finishing. That combination, movements thin enough to disappear inside cases that function as wearable art objects, remains the clearest expression of what Piaget does that no other manufacturer replicates in quite the same way.
At WATCHOYSTER, we carry a selection of certified pre-owned Piaget watches inspected in Switzerland. Every piece has been physically examined by our in-house certified watchmaker, verified against The Watch Register, and documented before listing. What you see reflects the actual condition of the watch, with no exceptions.
Piaget occupies an unusual position in the certified pre-owned market: the combination of manufacture movement credentials, gem-set case options and ultra-thin profiles places it well above its price perception among buyers who have not looked closely. The pre-owned route provides access to discontinued Polo references, earlier Altiplano variants in precious metals, and Limelight pieces that no longer appear at retail, often with original box and papers from Geneva. Buying a certified second-hand Piaget from a verified dealer in Switzerland means authentication covers both movement integrity and the gem and case condition that define value in this category. Our 12-month warranty applies to every piece in our catalogue, and our 14-day return policy covers any case where the watch does not correspond to its description.
All Piaget watches in our catalogue are available for immediate purchase with worldwide insured delivery. Standard delivery across Switzerland takes 2 to 3 business days as standard. For clients who prefer a personal handover, our appointment-only lounge in the Geneva Free Zone is available by prior arrangement.
For buyers based in Switzerland, Financing is available on selected pre-owned Piaget references across terms from 3 to 24 months, with no interest and no fee attached. The minimum first payment is 25% of the purchase price, with the balance divided into equal fixed monthly instalments confirmed at checkout in under three minutes with no documentation required.
