Poljot, meaning "flight" in Russian, was the watch manufacturer established in Moscow in 1930 as the First State Watch Factory. The brand supplied the Soviet military, aviation and space programme for decades, producing movements that powered watches worn by cosmonauts including Yuri Gagarin on his historic 1961 flight. Poljot chronograph calibres, particularly the hand-wound 3133 based on the Swiss Valjoux 7734 but substantially modified in-house, became the movement of choice for Soviet pilot and military watches throughout the Cold War era and are now collected internationally for their robustness and historical associations.
