deLaCour was founded in Geneva in 2003 by designer Pierre Koukjian, built around a deliberate rejection of conventional watchmaking codes in favour of architectural, sculptural case design. The brand's debut model, the Bichrono, introduced the first wristwatch in history to house two independent automatic chronograph movements within a single oversized tonneau case, a technical achievement that earned second prize at the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève in its launch year. DeLaCour has continued to position itself at the more avant-garde end of independent Geneva watchmaking, favouring bold proportions and unconventional case geometry over the restraint typically associated with the city's older houses.
