Buy Certified Pre-Owned Waltham Watches in Switzerland
Waltham traces its roots to 1850, when Aaron Lufkin Dennison, David Davis and Edward Howard founded the company that would become the Waltham Watch Company in Roxbury, Massachusetts. In 1854, Waltham introduced the world's first system of fully interchangeable watch parts, replacing the tradition of individually hand-fitted components with precision machine tooling — an innovation so significant that Henry Ford later cited the Waltham factory as an inspiration for the automobile assembly line. Between 1850 and 1957, Waltham produced some 40 million watches, clocks and precision instruments before the original American company closed. In 1954 it had already established Waltham International SA in Switzerland, which retained rights to the Waltham name outside North America and continues to produce mechanical watches under the Waltham name today, drawing on the brand's American engineering heritage, including designs referencing historic Waltham aviation instruments.
At WATCHOYSTER, we carry a selection of certified pre-owned Waltham watches inspected in Switzerland. Every piece has been physically examined by our in-house certified watchmaker, verified against The Watch Register, and documented before listing. What you see reflects the actual condition of the watch, with no exceptions.
Why Buy Pre-Owned Waltham Watches?
Waltham holds a genuinely unique place in watchmaking history as the pioneer of interchangeable-parts manufacturing, a legacy that shaped mass production far beyond the watch industry itself. The pre-owned market offers access to both historic American-era pieces and earlier Swiss-made Waltham references at a meaningful discount to current retail. Buying a certified second-hand Waltham from a verified dealer in Switzerland means every piece has been assessed for movement accuracy, case condition and dial integrity before listing. Our 12-month warranty applies to every watch in our catalogue, and our 14-day return policy covers any case where the watch does not correspond to its description.
Purchase Conditions
All Waltham watches in our catalogue are available for immediate purchase, with insured worldwide delivery. Standard delivery across Switzerland takes 2 to 3 business days. For clients who prefer to inspect the watch in person before completing the purchase, our appointment-only lounge in the Geneva Free Zone is available by prior arrangement.
Financing is available on selected pre-owned Waltham references for clients based in Switzerland, with terms from 3 to 24 months, no interest and no administrative fees. The full purchase price is divided into equal monthly instalments, with a minimum first payment of 25%. A decision takes under three minutes at checkout, with no documentation required beyond standard order information.
